| Mike Bannister graduated from Ashton School, DunstabIe, and the College of Air Training HambIe, having been awarded a Royal Air Force Flying Scholarship in 1966. After his formal education, he joined British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC) in August 1967 as a ground engineer. In 1976 he was selected for Flight Engineer Training.
