| On the 30th April, Untersharfuhrer Georg Diers and his crew of tank 314, were ordered to take up a defensive position at the Reichstag buildings. The crew of tank 314 consisted of commander Georg Diers, gunner Wolf-Dieter Kothe, loader Alex Sommer and radio operator Bodo Harms. This was one of only two remaining King Tigers belonging to Heavy SS Tank Battalion 503 in Berlin. | World War Two Panzer tank Ace with 102 tank victories. Chief of the 8./Panzer-Regiment 2, he took part in the Battle of France, Second Battle of Kharkov, Operation Winter Storm, Dnieper-Carpathian Offensive, First Jassy-Kishinev Offensive, and Operation Spring Awakening. He received the Knights Cross for actions on 28th December 1943. He was also a recipient of the Panzer Badge and German Cross in Gold. Later, a member of the Bundeswehr from 1959 to 1972. Died in 2013. |

| Erwin Kressman fought in the assault on Poland as company commander and Platoon leader. He was also invovled in the Western campaign and was promoted to Staff Sergeant. In June 1941 he was transferred to Russia and saw action in the Demjansk pocket and in May 1942, Kressmann was sent to the Crimea with Panzerjaeger Abt. Kressmann participated in the assault on Sevastopol. He was sent to the northern Russian front - the Battle of Leningrad as well as trench warfare at the Wolchow. In July 19 |

| Born 11th July 1920 in Berlin. Called up to the army in August 1939, he served in the Fench campaign before joining the 23rd Panzer Division on the eastern front. Fighting in the southern area of the eastern front, his unit avoided involvement at Stalingrad, but was used to relieve the forces involved there. | Franz-Wilhelm Lochmann joined up in 1941, and trained and served as a tank radio operator and machine gunner in I./503 Heavy Tank Division. He fought in 95 tank engagements and finished the war as a Company Commander. He was awarded the Iron Cross I and II. He died on 1st July 2015. |
