Unteroffizier Ottomar Kruse (deceased)
Pilot, 8./JG26. Having started flying prior to the war, he was appointed as an flight instructor, but risked a court martial in turning down this appointment, in favour of becoming a fighter pilot. On 18th August 1944 Kruse landed at a race-track with combat damage, and was told by a Labour Service officer he was in Arras. During one mission, he scored two confirmed victories, earning him the Iron Cross. He had claimed a P51 of 354 Fighter Group at Rambouillet and on the 25th of August a P

Walter Wolfrum (deceased)
Walter Wolfrum first saw combat in the Crimea with 5/JG52. He was shot down three times, and wounded twice before scoring his first victory. With his score at 70 he was again wounded, but returned to take command of 1/JG52 in May 1944, taking part in the fiercely fought defence of the Ploesti oilfields. he was again wounded, but returned to command 1/JG52 until the end of the war. he had flown 423 missions, achieved 137 victories, and was awarded the Knights Cross. Schuck, Walter

Oberleutnant Walter Schuck (deceased)
Initially with JG3, Walter Schuck was posted north to 7./JG5 in April 1942. On 15 June 1944 he chalked up his 100th victory during a day when he shot down 6 aircraft. Two days later he had his most successful day, achieving 12 victories in twenty-four hours, a feat never surpassed in JG5. On 1 August, he assumed command of 10./JG5. Walter Schuck transferred to fly the Me262 as Staffelkapitan of 3./JG7, and achieved 8 further victories flying the new jet. His final tally was 206 air victorie

 This book charts the story of the myriad aces who flew the later marks of Messerschmitt fighter through to VE-Day. As good as the Emil had been during the opening 18 months of the war, the aircraft was being progressively bettered in virtually all aspects of aerial combat by the Spitfire come 1941, so Messerschmitt updated and improved the breed, firstly with the introduction of the Friedrich and then the multi-variant Gustav.
Bf109F/G/K Aces of the Western Front.
 An Me109 pilot, Dieter Hrabak scored a victory during the Battle of France, 15 more during the Battle of Britain, commanded JG54 and JG52 and survived the war scoring a total of 125 victories.  He is shown here flying Bf109 G-6 of JG52, Krakow, Poland in 1944.  After the war he was instrumental in rebuilding the German Air Force, retiring in 1970.  He died in 1995.

On the 16th of September 1944 he was flying Fw190A-8 171505 and was shot down at Nutherveld at 1810hrs by a P47 of 50FG, and became a POW. He died on 9th October 2009.
