Serving with the 506th Parachute Regiment attached to the 101st Airborne, Bill took part in the initial parachute drop on D-Day. He made a second drop on Operation Market Garden, fought in the Battle of the Bulge and finally took part in the capture of Hitler's Eagles Nest at Berchtesgaden on 4th-5th May 1945. He died in 2017.

British paratroopers board a Dakota in preparation for Operation Market Garden, the assault on Arnhem.

Dawn Departure, Arnhem by Geoff Lea. 		Volunteered as a paratrooper in 1942 and joined the 101st Airborne, jumping into Europe on D-Day. Landing eight miles from his intended target, he cut himself loose after getting snagged in trees and losing most of his equipment. Fought through Normandy but spent four weeks in hospital after Operation Market Garden. Rejoined his platoon and fought through to the Eagle's Nest and the end of the war. He died in 2015 aged 96. <br><br><i>Please note that the paratrooper printed remarque shown next to the signature may or may not be clipped with the signature - each print was signed differently.</i><br>

Clipped Signature - Paul Rogers.		The prints depict the drop of the 4th Parachute Brigade on Ginkle Heath, on the 18th September 1944. The panting was commissioned by Col John Waddy who was the Officer Commanding B Company 156th Parachute Battalion during that momentous drop and subsequent battles.

Advancing into Germany, the 506th's final mission of the war was the capture of Hitler's Eagle Nest at Berchtesgaden on 4th - 5th May 1945. He died on 20th March 2017.
