A U-Boat commander in command of U-737 from 1942 to 1944. Re-joined the post war German Navy after Allied captivity and retired in 1974. Awarded the Knight's Cross, he died in 2013.

Paul Brasack joined the German Navy in 1937, although he served with the Luftwaffe until 1942. He served for one tour with U-590 before taking command of U-737. In 1944 he became a training officer until the end of the war. He subsequently spent two years in Allied captivity, but later re-joined the post-war German Navy, serving until his retirement in 1974. Awarded the Knight's Cross, he died on 11th March 2013 aged 96.
