![]() Group Captain David J Green OBE (deceased) Died : 2005 *Signature Value : £30 Editions signed : Signed limited edition with extra signature, sold as set of three. | Green, David J (Group Captain David J Green OBE (deceased)) Volunteered for aircrew service and carried ou pilot training as a member of the first course to go to the United States. Within four months he was back in the UK as a Sergeant Pilot, achieving his ambition to fly Spitfires. Through the war (1941 - 1946) he flew Hurricane night fighters (Desert Air Force), Spitfire fighter/ground attack in Italy and Yugoslavia and a 'rest' tour as a test pilot with 720 aircraft of many types in one year and 120 operational sorties. David Green passed away on the 14th of June 2005. |
