Having expended all his ammunition, Sgt Pilot Ronnie Fokes of 92 Squadron shadows the stricken Yellow 7 and its pilot Uffz R Hammer moments before their participation in the Battle of Britain was to end. Having sustained major damage to it's cooling system, Yellow 7 crash-landed on 30th September 1940, at Pelsham House, Peasmarsh Sussex.

No one knows for certain whether the two great fighter aces Douglas Bader and Adolf Galland actually fought each other in a one-on-one combat, but it is thought highly likely that they did as the famous Tangmere Wing led by Bader regularly found itself dueling with the Bf.109s of JG.26 led by Galland. Their great rivalry came to an end in August 1941 when Bader was shot down over St Omer, but these two heroes were to become close friends after the war, each having the utmost respect for the other.

41 Sqn Scramble by Ivan Berryman. 		Spitfires of No.19 Squadron RAF, including Flt Sgt George Unwin (QV-H) attack a formation of He111 bombers during the Battle of Britain.

Battle of Britain by Graeme Lothian. 		An American pilot before the outbreak of World War Two, he volunteered for the British Royal Air Force in 1940, flying Spitfires in combat with No.607 Sqn. Flying with the RAF, he had become a double Ace before Pearl Harbor, and joined American squadrons once they entered the war. He scored 11.5 victories in over 400 missions, retiring as Major General in 1968. He died in 2003.
