The Roll Call by Lady Elizabeth Butler.

Grenadier Guards exhausted, standing in the snow after the battle, during the Crimean war awaiting the reading of the Roll Call. Published by Pompador Gallery in 1987, this print sold out at the publisher over eighteen years ago. Although their condition is not perfect, they are good to the eye. They are very rare items - we have only 20 prints remaining.

Inspired by the poem; The Charge of the Light Brigadeby Alfred, Lord Tennyson; depicted is the final allied cavalry charge by British cavalry at a Russian artillery battery during the Battle of Balaclava. The charge was the result of a miscommunication and ultimately led to over 250 casualties before the light brigade was forced to retreat. Taken from the original book plate, published 1920.

The Barrier by Marjorie Weatherstone.		 The scene at Portsmouth as the 1st Battalion Scots Fusilier Guards embark on HMS Simoom in early 1854 for Crimea. The soldiers would return in late 1856 having taken part in the battles of Alma and Inkerman and the siege of Sevastopol.
