Joined the RAF in 1960 as an apprentice, eventually flying the Hawker Hunter with No.8 Sqn in Bahrain. He joined No.23 Sqn flying the Lightning and in 1975 converted to Phantoms with No.29 Sqn. He flew fighters with the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight in the 1980s and became an instructor on jets, retiring from the RAF in 1997.

Colonel Robin Olds by Ivan Berryman. 		This classic portrayal of 92 squadrons flagship Lightning F2A XN778 King Cobra taking off from a rain-swept RAF Gutersloh in 1977 pays tribute to the legendary fighter, its pilots and the engineers who enjoyed a love/hate relationship with the difficult and technically challenging Lightning.
Lightning by Michael Rondot 		Joined the RAFVR in April 1939 and was called up on the outbreak of war. He flew Blenheims during the Battle of Britain with No.29 Sqn from July 1940, and joined No.89 Sqn flying Beaufighters a year later. In autumn 1942 he was no longer allowed to fly due to medical reasons and took on a number of ground roles until leaving the RAF in 1946. He died in January 2000. <br><br><b>Please note that this particular signature has been written in pen - not in pencil like most of our signatures.</b><br>

Clipped Signature - Donald Anderson.		Of all the classic fighters to have served with the RAF since the l950s, no other aircraft had the raw power and breathtaking performance of the Lightning, and of all the variants the F2A was considered to be the best.

Joined the Air Force in 1960 as an Apprentice at RAF Locking and then as a Cadet at RAF College Cranwell. During this period he also flew the Spitfire and Hurricane aircraft of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight for four years. In 1986 he flew BAC 167 aircraft at the King Feisal Air Academy in Saudi Arabia returning to UK in 1988 to train flying instructors on Jet Provost and Tucano aircraft at the Central Flying School at RAF Scampton. In 1990 he was posted to the Central Flying School Exam Wing as a Basic and Advanced Command Examiner and Command IRE on Hawks, Jet Provost and Tucano aircraft. He served his last tour on 55 Sqn at RAF Cranwell flying the Dominie (HS125). In 1997 he retired from the RAF to become an Aviation Officer and continued to fly the Dominie until 2003. He then joined the instructional staff at the Hawk Synthetic Training Facility at RAF Valley. He has a total of 9500 hours.
