Captain Fields 2 Scimitar and 2 Scorpion light tanks of 3 Troop The Blues and Royals along with the Milan platoon, provide vital covering fire for 2 Paras assault on the North Spur Wireless Ridge (Apple Pie) Following lessons learned at Goose Green additional support was available from artillery, mortars, machine guns and even HMS Ambuscade. Despite the attack being conducted at night, with frequent snow flurries, and minefields, all the objectives were taken, and at first light the road to Port Stanley lay open and unopposed.

Battle for Mount Longdon by Mark Churms. 		Goose Green, Falkland Islands, 28th May 1982. British Paratroops of 2 Para trapped in a gorse gully finally break the main Argentine line of defence, opening the way to the final assault on Darwin and Goose Green. Despite being outnumbered, exhausted, and forced to attack over open ground under fire from enemy machine guns, artillery and aircraft, 2 Para succeeded in reaching their objective and giving the British Task Force its first much needed land victory.

Looking slightly the worse for wear after her journey south to the Falkland Islands in 1982, the P&O cruise liner <i>Canberra</i>, requisitioned as a troop carrier at the outbreak of the conflict, is shown in the midst of an attack by Argentine Mirage aircraft in San Carlos Water during May. Believed by the Argentine pilots to be a hospital ship, <i>Canberra</i> herself was never targeted, but her proximity to other ships of the British task force meant that she was constantly in danger.
