Leutnant Walter Count Punski Krupinski of 4 Staffel, JG52 downs a Soviet R5 biplane on 25th September 1942. By the end of the day, 4 enemy aircraft would fall prey to his guns. One month later he received the Ritterkreutz having claimed 56 victories.

Walter Wolfrum first saw combat in the Crimea with 5/JG52. He was shot down three times, and wounded twice before scoring his first victory. With his score at 70 he was again wounded, but returned to take command of 1/JG52 in May 1944, taking part in the fiercely fought defence of the Ploesti oilfields. he was again wounded, but returned to command 1/JG52 until the end of the war. he had flown 423 missions, achieved 137 victories, and was awarded the Knights Cross. Flying with JG21 at the outbreak of World War Two, Heinz Lange claimed his first victory in October 1939. Transferring to JG54, he flew 76 missions throughout the Battle of Britain, then scored 7 victories in the first week of the invasion of Russia. He commanded 1./JG54 from October 1941, then 3./JG51 from 1942 to 1944 before returning to JG54, then led IV./JG51. He is shown here in Bf109 F-2 of 1./JG.54 at Krasnagvardeisk, Russia, 1941. Awarded the Knight's Cross, he scored 70 victories in over 600 missions. He died in 2006.

Tribute to Heinz Lange by Ivan Berryman. 		Chief Test Pilot at Messerschmitt in the key years from the development of the Me109 through to the end of the war and the Me262. He flew around 15,000 test flight hours across many types of Messerschmitt, about 5,000 of which were on the Me109. He died in 1998. <br><br><b>Please note that this particular signature has been written in pen - not in pencil like most of our signatures.</b><br>

Clipped Signature - Wendelin Trenkle.		 Bf109G-2 Yellow 11 of Oberleutnant Hermann Graf, Staffelkapitan 9./JG52, Pitomnik, September 1942. Graf scored his 150th kill in this aircraft in September 1942. He was awarded the Knights Cross after 42 victories, the Oak Leaves after 104 victories, the Swords after 106 victories and the Diamonds after 172 victories. His final total at the end of the war stood at 212 victories, and he held the rank of Oberst.

Tribute to Hermann Graf by Graeme Lothian.		 Pilot Officer John Bisley of 126 Squadron in combat with Me 109s from JG-53 during one of the intense aerial air battles over Valetta in April 1942. Between the summer of 1940 and the end of 1942, Malta became one of the most bombed places on earth. The RAFs desperate fight to retain control of the diminutive Mediterranean island, and the defiant courage of the people of Malta, is one of the epic stories of World War Two.
